John Clarke is Executive General Manager – Future Grid at Transpower, bringing extensive experience across New Zealand’s electricity sector. He has held several senior leadership roles within Transpower, including General Manager Grid Development and General Manager Operations, following a decade in senior operational positions.
John’s career spans both transmission and distribution, as well as electrical engineering consulting, giving him a well-rounded perspective on the energy system. In his current role, he is focused on shaping the future of New Zealand’s grid to support a reliable, resilient, and increasingly low-emissions energy system.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering.
